why?
The initial why is actually pretty simple - We really are just a couple of Newfoundlanders who are incredibly proud of where we're from. And we truly hope that pride & passion is reflected in our brand, and the apparel we sell!

When we first set out to create RUGGEDSHORE, there was a reason we chose each of the first three elements to build our brand on. 'The Wave' because the water that surrounds us sends waves hammering in on our shores in relentless fashion. That same water, the very thing that has given so much to this Province, has also taken plenty away - Which is symbolized by 'The Wreck'. It's true, living here isn't what many would consider easy - The winters are harsh, the summers are short-lived, and the ocean can be unforgiving. But there is still incredible beauty everywhere we look, on our land, and in our people.
So, what about 'the lighthouse'? And how did it become the focal point of our brand? That's almost less about where we live, and more about how we live. Newfoundlanders are a lot like our Province - Weathered & rugged, but also kind, resilient & always welcoming, regardless of what gets thrown at us. The fog rolls in, but our light still shines!
